I woke up with the bug to go elk hunting today, some days are worse than others. Its like having a damn addiction to drugs I guess. Played with my hunting stuff a little & watched a couple of videos. I'm already to go, I hate waiting. Good that winter is almost over, going hiking, fishing, scouting & ramping up my shooting also. Hope my fellow addicts are doing good out there, they should have help meetings & a help line to call to get through these tougher days. Took my first mulie buck in 07, had plenty of opportunities in 08 but didn't connect. Saw my first bear last year that I could of shot ( to small) & saw my first bobcat. Six months and counting, need to calm down a little. Mike

I've got the bug too..I think everyone does. Last year I spent opening weekend recovering from surgery. Seems like it's been an eternity since I have been out hunting.

Sorry to hear about your seasons, I had that bad cold opening day. Coughed about every two hours. Did get my bowhunter magazine in today's mail, so good for another two hours. Going to read it and watch another video. Hope you both are all fixed up for this year. Mike

The sportsmans shows are over:

Welcome caller to hunting-washington.com's help line for hunting addicts - feel free to converse on any sporting subject to help out the demons that make you twitch and yearn for Bugling Bulls. If the addiction still burns please go out and target shoot, fish, camp, look for sheds, eliminate some coyotes, tell lies around camp fire, take some pictures of game, etc. If the addiction still burns after that please go to sporting goods store and single handedly boost the Nations economy and thus making your significant other the happiest person on earth (sort of). if the addiction burn still won't go away, I usually medicate with alcohol and plan outlandish expensive hunts.

I woke up three days this week dreaming about various hunting excursions. It is like mental anguish. I see why so many folks have gotten into photography, as it is like hunting everyday without meat bags and pack frames.

Holy cow where the hell was that picture taken. In Ellensburg there isn't any snow on the ground.

I can't concentrate at school. Instead of homework I get on here and I day dream all the time about hunting. I can't shoot my bow because it's too windy. I have it bad. Real bad.

I got 5 inches last night. But it's mostly gone by now. It snowed harder last night than it has all year.

Amen high climber. I bought a new gps, boots for the wife & collapseable fishing poles. I'm going hiking all summer, by next year I will be a whiz at " where am I at in washington".

Went snowmobiling Friday & Sunday, took the edge off of my hunting addiction. Feeling better. Going to try and ignore it for as long as possible. Maybe that makes it come on stronger when it bites ? Mike

Get yourself a camera and get out there and try getting good close picks, just like hunting except your not killing anything except maybe some brain cells when you get a shot of that toad

Got Elk in the Field at Work everyday, Just waiting for a few to show up without Horns and I consider Hunting Season Open!
