Does anyone find it odd that he left his truck keys in the truck? Makes me wonder.

Lava beds and hunting alone, bad idea. Hope he is found.

Saying for prayers for this guy and his family. An InReach is going on my Christmas list this year.

Prayers sent for this guy to be found if it's not too late.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

I usually leave my keys in my truck. Don't really need them in the woods, and when I do it's because I'm getting back in my truck. May not be to unusual

Leaving the keys in the truck is not unheard of, I've known guys that do it in case something happens. If you lose your gear or fall you still have a way out.

Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Guess I'm a little jaded. I prefer my truck is there when I get back to it...I don't trust people enough to leave my keys anywhere in the area...

In this case I guess we don't know. Could be normal for him..

Yep all of my family and hunting partners know exactly where I leave my keys. In an emergency, someone can get my rig. Or if I kill something far from my rig, someone can grab it and move it closer without having to come to me first.

:yeah:. Depends on the situation how far I am from the truck, but they usually stay in the truck or somewhere else like in the bed near the tailgate.

I leave my keys behind, usually hide them somewhere in truck. I have this fear that ill drop or loose them in the woods and not realize it until I'm back to my rig, then id really be in a bad situation. Hopefully he was thinking the same thing.

I put my keys in my back pack hooked to a zipper cord with a carabiner zipped up into a pocket. All my hunting group knows this also.I do this because of fear of losing them.If i lose my huge pack then well you know.
