I had previously had it all ready to go, or so I thought...

Went to fire a few rounds after boresighting and it would not eject the empties.  Didn't matter how fast I tried working the bolt.  A little research and I found out that is a common issue with 788's, the ejector throws them at a pretty high angle and causes the shell to get knocked back in by hitting the scope.

Found two "cures" in my research:

1) Rotate the scope a quarter trun to the left... could not get that to look right no matter how hard I tried!!  Yeah, I'm one of those! 

2) Use tall rings.  Got a pair of them installed and now had proper ejection, but then not a comfortable cheek weld...hence the adjustible riser.

I guess the biggest cause of my putting it off was the drilling of the stock, kinda hard to come back from that if ya screw it up!!

But, there it is...

I have one in .223 Remington, killed a few coyotes with it over the years. time for a few more I think.

Has anyone compared the Foxpro Patriot to the Lucky Duck Rebel? Both 119.99.  The Rebel has a motion decoy attached. Just curious...thanks!

I too am curious the difference in patriot and rebel. Less sounds in the rebel and can't load additional (it seems). But, rebel can play 2 sounds at once and includes decoy attachment.
I'm likely going to buy myself the rebel tomorrow for my bday, unless someone can lead me a different direction. Just getting into predator hunting so $120 is a lot easier to swallow than $200+.

Can’t go wrong with Foxpro.  But the cheaper models constantly need fresh batteries, a real pain in the butt.  I have the Banshee and I hardly ever have to replace the batteries.  You get what you pay for with E callers

I'm still using an older foxpro CS24B from the custom shop, it works good. 

I've upgraded my decoy, I was using a jack in the box but I want a more frantic decoy so I'll be using Icotec PD200.  I like the MOJO spinners but I think their critter 2 went downhill.

Ok I'm diggin the new icotec decoy


I can confirm that it does work with with the AUX port on the foxpro.   

I like that I can adjust the spin speed of the decoy topper

there is a slight motor noise, but the flapping of the decoy topper drowns it out I think, it's slight.  It's pretty quiet really, just as quiet as my jack in the box.  I like the flapping noise of the decoy, in fact I think I want to add a plastic strip to enhance the flapping noise with wood pecker sounds when I hang it in a tree....ya 





coulple things I noticed, you'll need a good fingernail or knife to get the flex spring rod out of the decoy motor once you have the plastic bushing/clip in place. 
You can't just yank out the flex spring without removing that bushing, it somehow locks it in place even though the flex spring is magnetic mount, I dunno it won't come out and I didn't want to yank it any harder.  Not a big deal I don't chew my finger nails
