Skull Hooker
« on: November 30, 2017, 06:50:12 AM »
Looking to do something different with my elk this year.  Thinking maybe a skull hooker but am not sure.  Does any one have any pictures using one they would be willing to share?

Had this one in the house but it got knocked off of the wall and the nose bones broken so I moved it out to the corner of the garage. Skull hooker is nice, but it sticks out away from the wall quite a bit.

I use them for some of my deer  ...... but never tried with elk.

I went with a Dead On Display European mount display for this years elk. This mount hides the hanger completely behind the skull. Depends on the look you’re going for. If you’re limited on space check out the Dead On. Here’s a couple pix, I need to do something with that hanging chandelier...  I plan to mount a couple deer on either side of the bull using the Skull Hooker brand to give it a little something different.

Here's my daughter's bull from last year.  I need to move the mount up a few more inches so you can see more of the skull.  It was a pain trying to work on a set of stairs to get everything mounted up.  I like the way it looks but not sure I would use one again.   The directions where not that good.  So there was several test fittings to get the angle of the hook right.  Sometimes too much adjustability is a pain.

Really like both the Skull Hooker and the Dead On.  The dead on looks great with your wall color.  Thanks for taking the time to post some pics...I will post the final product when done!

Ended up going with the skull hooker.  Still have to whiten the skull, but had to see what it looked like on the wall!

Ive done up about a dozen with the skull hooker....i dont like the way it naturally sits in the skull and am too worried its goung to slip off at the angle i have it set for so i drill and screw the scull hooker directly to the skull
