Well this is different, I don't think I've ever had cell service while hunting  :chuckle:
I had cell service almost 6 miles from a road in a wilderness area when I killed my goat this year.
:dunno:
Lots of cell service out there.

Well my statement wasn't 100% true,  I did hunt in a cell service area once.
Now the phone stays behind, in the truck, or better yet on the kitchen counter at home then everyone knows I don't have it with me (again).  I've found, through trial and error, that it's better to leave the phone at home on the kitchen counter then take it and have it show a bunch of missed calls on my way home, they usually go something like this:

message 1:  Hey honey, when you going to be home?
message 2:  Hey.....
message 3:  Hey!  when you coming home?? Can you stop and pick up ...( usually kids or some grocery item)
message 4:  Hey umm...so I don't know when you're coming home so I ....(some master plan to cover what I didn't pick up)
message 5:  I'm GETTING WORRIED!!!
message 6:  WHEN ARE YOU COMING HOME?  PICK UP!!!
message 7:  blank, no message left
message 8:  blank, no message left
message 9:  Ok, so when you get cell service can you call me?
message 10: blank, no message left

Sorry you didn't get him but that would be neat if you found his sheds this year and got him next year!

I've been with my wife for 16 years, hunting and fishing the whole time, gone early and back late. She still sends me texts and calls asking when I'm going to be home, even though she knows the answer.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

I thought the play by play was cool. Also as far as having cell service hunting there’s a lot of places in the mountains that I have better service than at my house so I’d say that’s not too uncommon.

Psssst...... you shouldn’t have waited.   You should have continued past him until you had the shot ....pull stop release.

I loved the play-by-play.

Thanks for sharing.

Had it been me, I probably would have tried to sneak........ and then kicked myself for not waiting......... again.
