I think wolves would be a great addition to the extinct list. They are the most ruthless, destructive animals I have ever seen.

My guess is the lack of trees in the area played a pretty significant part in the wolves killing this cat.  I think the biggest problem we'll see is competition for game and stealing thier kills once the cat has it down.

Could be, my feeling is that the cougar wasn't very mature or smart.  If they had treed it, may still be around.  Strange thing over there is that the wolves and the cougars are not avoiding people or civilization.  Cougars used to stay out far away from people.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and story.  It is becoming increasingly obvious that there was a reason that wolves were hunted to extinction at one time.

Yeah, the reason is that the country was settled by Oppressive Heterosexual White Males (OHWM's) and they hate and kill anything that is not an OHWM.. :chuckle:

The damn  :tree1: just had to re introduce the Wolf to the lower 48.  >:( There is a reason the old timers got rid of the wolves!
