I've been using Triple 7 loose powder & #11 Remington caps for a couple yrs & I've never had a problem with it igniting. I tried the pellets & didn't really care for them. I have a 50Cal Austin & Halleck that shoots great but it took a lot of expermenting with different bullets & powder measurements to get there. With pellets you don't have a whole lot of room to experiment which to me is half the fun.

Thanks.............thinking of changing over to loose. Just right now it is pretty easy to drop pellets in and shoot............I'm think of hunting with it next year.
