I used a savage .243 last year for antelope in Montana. Killed a goat at 278 yards one shot. Dropped where he was standing. 80 gr. Bullet love the load. But what about going to 100 gr.? What do you Shoot out of your .243 for deer and or antelope.

We have shot a pile of deer with .243 chambered rifles all but three were with 100 grain corelokt bullets. As long as we do our part they've been bang flops. And we've never recovered a single bullet.

I have killed deer with my 243 and 95 gr nosler BT's, 95gr sst's, 95gr vld's and 105 vld's. From 5 yards to 200 yards Many drt never had one go more than 60 yards. The vld's have been my favorite. Have taken few black bear as well both about 180 yards. First went 40 yards, second one rag dolled down the mountian about 100 yards. What ever bullet shoots best in your rifle will be a great choice

Ive got a load worked up on my 243 and can't wait to get the opportunity to use it. 86 grain nosler e-tip bullet running at 2980 fps. Some days I'm shooting 3/4 inch groups with this load. Not bad with a basic 3x9 leupold vx2 on a Ruger American rifle.

Another satisfied customer for Core Lokt 100gr PSP here
My .243 has taken 11 speed goats.
Found one bullet in two parts: copper & lead far shoulder.

The plain Federal blue box 100gr loads shoot well and have performed well on Mule Deer for the youths we take hunting. Super affordable also.

Many a bear, several elk, and more then a couple mulies filled my freezer over the years with factory 100 grain core lok's. Couldn't count the coyote and bobcats that met their demise growing up with the same load..

I load my daughters with Nosler Ballistic Tips, 95 grain if I remember right. It makes an impressive impact on deer or antelope.

Federal 100gr Sierra Gamekings are great factory ammo for hunting. I now load them over 38.1gr of H4350.

43.0 grains of IMR 4350 pushing a 95 grain ballistic tip at 2960. 1/2 MOA at 112 yards.
Same powder charge shot the same group with Berger 90 BT Target bullets at 3040.
These loads are definitely not pushing it pressure wise but as always work up
