Why no late hunt in GMU 418 and 437 (modern and muzzleloader)

Just like the topic says although I see there is a late archery hunt in 437.

 Poor numbers and they are too susceptible during the rut. Puts what deer are there in peril. I wish they'd end the high buck in 418 as well.

Do you guys think the deer numbers are down because they stopped running hounds there.

Without a doubt! Lions and bears predate heavily on deer in the higher elevations. The bears really hammer fawns. Alpine hunting has increased tremendously due to exposure from social media and combined with a significant winterkill last year deer numbers are way down.

 Oh and I almost forgot, you can now add wolves to the list of predators in 418 as there is now a resident pack.

Except for the islands and I-5 corridor, there hasn't been a late modern firearm season North of I-90 in many years.
