I had some fun over the last 5 days
« on: February 19, 2018, 04:06:42 PM »
So I got to do something really cool over the last 5 days.  Some of you know that I am involved as volunteer for the NWTF.  I am a local chapter president and now the state chapter president.  I got the change to go to the 42 annual NWTF National Convention in Nashville, TN.  I had a blast and learned alot.  Got to meet some cool guys you may recognize.  I a great time and it was all about our mission of Save the Habitat, Save the Hunt.  Those two birds are record birds.  Top is multiple beards and the bottom one has really long spurs.  Got to walk our state flag to the front of the stage Thursday night

Very cool Russ.  I hadn't thought about turkey hunting here until I was hunting out north of Spokane a couple season's ago.  I notched my first tag in the fall that year in WA.  Killed 25 in Missouri way back in the day but never thought about turkey hunting here.  It is good here.

Just looking at this gets me all bucked up for spring. Love watching those call champions. I can't come close to them but my calling, and the number of birds I call in, have improved leaps and bounds trying to mimic them. Thanks for sharing your trip.

Glad you got to do that.  I went to a couple when I was in Wyoming, a great time!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I too went to several years ago.  David Blanton was much younger back then and Michael was a wee youngster packing a heavy camera for Bill Jordan on Realtree Outdoors.  Geez that was 20 plus years ago.  Time flies I guess.
