Northwest Custom Diesel?
« on: March 19, 2018, 05:28:30 PM »
Anybody have any experience with them? Since the new Dodge 3500 didnt work out because of a recall, I got a nice 2010 F-350 6.4 powerstroke with decent miles and at a great price. I want to bullet proof it and have a couple things done to make it a better daily driver/ tow rig for across the country and heard good stuff about NWCD, just looking for opinions or better shops.

Call Garrett in Bremerton at All About Transmissions and Auto Repair. His technician Chris does a lot of Ford Power Stroke upgrades. They will be worth the time.

I've got a '97 F-250 PowerStroke 7.3

Addiction Diesel in Parkland did me right a few months back. Upstanding guy who's just starting out. Could have charged me a ton, but was honest and sent me out real cheap. Didn't do work that didn't need to be done. I'm going back in a month for an oil change and some minor turbo work.

Good luck wherever you end up!

Whatever Jackalope says on these kind of threads is near gospel.
I'll be watching this thread for future use.

Huh....weird. Had no idea. Did something change? Admittedly it's been a while since I've even mentioned or heard mention of them...but last time I did I heard they were good. It's been a couple years.

I bought a used '09 F350, 6.4, 6 spd manual with very low miles a little over a year ago from NWMS. The only thing that I know that was done to it was the EGR delete. '09 didn't have the DEF system yet. I was lucky and found the original owner and he gave me info on the truck. He had a Spartan Tuner in it and somewhere along the line it came up missing before I bought it. He had good things to say about the tuner. They're pretty spendy and I haven't went out and bought another one yet. Not too sure I really need it. Does the 2010 have the DEF system? I get a little over 16 mpg just driving around town and it gets better on the hiway. Towing, mpg takes a dump. Other than that it's been a trouble free truck. Good luck.

No DEF on the 6.4 trucks. Only 6.7's

Had the exact truck.
It's now a foreman' truck at our company.

At about 20K did an HP Performance, mini max controller with a drop pipe straight back exhaust.
Got rid of the nuclear warhead under the truck. Lots of power, runs great, tows great, 300K and going strong with an auxiliary fuel tank, tools, and all.

Great truck and combo.
