Same case, with a bullet 2 hundredths of an inch smaller in diameter than the 7mm-08, and 2 hundredths of an inch bigger in diameter than the 243 Winchester. The 6.5 Creedmoor walks all over the 7-08 across the board. Hundredths matter

Well my daughter passed hunters safety Saturday and her new rifle is ordered!! Were getting the Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor, paired with the Vortex Crossfire 4-12x44. Cant wait to hit the Range and clank some steel with this thing!

Hundredths matter I don't think so. Maybe if you're a target shooter who shoots out to 600 yards and further, it might have a slight advantage. But if you're a hunter who wants to shoot deer out to 300 yards, I seriously doubt there's any significant difference between the two.
The 300 win mag is all you need for deer or elk. But dang all this talk I’m really feeling a need for a 6.5 Creedmoor. Gonna happen.
i saw remington cor-lokt ammo rolled out in 6.5CM for something like $18.99 a box advertised. don't see why they'd do that, when they charge around $30 for .260 and nearly as much for 7mm-08. it's almost like they want their own offspring to fail.
the thing i notice (and what makes me slightly upset) about the 6.5CM is for how new of a cartridge it is, it is really inexpensive to buy good ammo for. i'm talking sub-$20 a box.
I have nothing against the 6.5 Creed and they all seem to shoot pretty well but it's no secret I'm a big fan of the 6.5-284 so I don't see myself jumping ships any time soon. Even loaded to short action OAL's, the 6.5-284 out performs the 6.5 Creed. IMO, the real winner, with regard to the 6.5 Creed, is the marketing department because they've taken a ho hum middle of the road performing cartridge and turned it into a superstar.
