Neoprene vest for lab
« on: April 30, 2018, 04:26:14 PM »
Any recommendations for a good vest for a slender lab. I ordered a new vest for my 5 year old lab according to the size charts but after putting it on, it seems like I would have to trim a lot to get it to ride correct on her. Any of you guys out there with 50-60 lb labs have one you would recommend?

I should add that I just checked and I can no longer return it since it is past the return window so might be posting mine in classifieds if anyone is looking. Its an ALPS outoorsz delta waterfowl vest

I think it's pretty common to need to trim some to make them fit right. I took my dog into Holiday sporting goods on Hwy 20 so that I could find one that fit right. It was the right call. 2c

Her current vest I had to trim but from my measurements of the new one, it feels like I would have to cut half the darn vest.

trim loose spots off and cinch up and zip tie slack on top to keep from rubbing. thats if your dog isnt a chesapeake and needs such a contraption

I took my dog into 3 different stores to try on vests before I found one that fit right. It's one of those things I'd rather not order.

Our lab is very petite, I bought a vest and spent a day with scissors and a sewing machine.  It isn’t hard, just find someone that can sew.
