custom gun stock work
« on: May 02, 2018, 09:49:08 AM »
Hey all. A blessing and a tragedy all dressed up in one in this thread.

Blessing: So, my Grandfather had custom varmit guns made for all his kids as wedding gifts. My mom got a custom 22-250 which I have admired for many years. Recently it was passed on to my son as a gift.

Tragedy: My mom, who is left handed like me and my son, is right eye dominant so she has always shot righty. Neither my son or I shoot righty and the 22-250 stock is so custom it is uncomfortable to shoot lefty. My son shot it for the first time, and that thing is a tack driver even with the weirdness of shooting "against the grain" as it were.

Here is my questions:

Is there anyone in the northwest who could recreate the stock design, but in a lefty configuration?
What would something like that cost? The original is myrtle wood with some checkering

I'll try to remember to post a pic, but I'm at work so can't right now.

I know a master stock maker in Bremerton. He's not cheap but does awesome work. I can get his # if you want. He fixed a broken stock on my 1930's euro SXS and you can't tell where it broke.

If it's not too much trouble that # would be helpful. Thanks.
