I filled my second bear tag tonight! We walked up a logging road, the rain had just ended, and we spotted this guy 200 yards up hill. He came around a stump and gave me a nice frontal shot and I took the opportunity to drop him. I can't believe what a beast my husband is for rolling this guy down that blackberry hill!

I got to poke a hole in this guy on sept 1st   30 minutes out of the gate.  He was spooked by  something and ran right to me. By the time I got a shot he was at full speed running right at me at a mere 20 feet.  It was more like self defense lol. After the arrow hit him he turned back but only made it about ten yards before piling up in the buck brush he had come out of.  Not the biggest but is my first and I couldn’t be happier to have him
Congrats jburkett!

Nice work Crowinghen - if you don't mind sharing, what meat cutter so you use for the bears?
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies

On 21 June, 2025 the US bombed three Iranian nuclear sites and, according to the President the Iranian nuclear capability was "obliterated". Now it appears the the US is again preparing military strikes on Iran if they won't agree to abandon their nuclear program that is/was reportedly in ruins?????
Who knew that Obama winning an Nobel Peace Prize would lead to this?

This is my son's first bear / first big game animal ever.   Proud dad!!!!

"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

2018 Bears
« Reply #58 on: October 10, 2018, 08:03:05 AM »

Finally got my first black bear yesterday. He was about 150lb. Did a solo hunt and went about four miles back up my usual mountain and he was 80 yards off the trail eating berries. Time for some bear roast.
