Lots of people out in the pee soup fog this morning. Hmmmm makes a lot of sense. I don’t know how more hunting accidents don’t happen up there.

Yup, its 206's favorite hang out.  Make sure you have a winch and cable to help the pavement princesses powerstrokes out of the ditch.  Pack extra designer brand camo, bring at least 2 packs (preferably Busch in the orange can) to toss out the window, and slam your door before bugling 10ft off the road. :IBCOOL:

Right...because there isn't 10,000 509ers running the roads as well. SMH
They all stay home and don't hunt during hunting season. Get the heck outta here with these moronic posts that insult fellow hunters. Who cares if people from the Westside come hunt on the Eastside and vise versa.

What you think because your from the Eastside that your self entitled to solely hunting the GMUs. As hunters, we should be working together to help everyone enjoy their hunting season and achieve success. I don't care where your from. I will help anyone regardless of what side of the state they are from. I live on both sides of the state all throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to my help...

What has been going on in my back yard for years is pathetic. Its not your back yard its happening to. So yes, I take it personally. When your spots get invaded and over run with this stuff, it hits home. I quit hunting up there because of it. If you want to follow along and help your fellow hunter in whats going on up there than nobody can help you. :twocents:

No I don't own it. I just hate seeing a great place I spent ALOT of my personal time with family and friends being over run ever year and there is a reason theres every police official in there every year. I know its hard to accept but the reality is there. :twocents:

So what are the biggest issues and what can be done to fix them? Some of us go hunt that area but show respect for the area and other hunters as we all should whatever gmu we go to.

You think it’s bad on the eastside
Try the Winston during modern elk season
And we have to purchase a $300 permit to access it

Go to Wyoming or Montana.  Washington has turned into a joke for elk hunting unless your just looking for a camping trip in the fall.  It isn't that much more money either and worth absolutely every cent!!!  The average hunter hunting on public land in the Colockum and Yakima areas hunting for spike only probably has a success rate at about 1%-2%.  I think the total success rate is at or under 4%-5% but that includes all the private ground hunters also that have better odds.  It has done nothing but plummeted in the last 10 years for many reasons that can be argued for hours and hours. Predators, native hunting, poor management by WDFW, muzzle load seasons, loss of habitat, massive Washington state population compared to public hunting grounds, and the list can go on and on.  You might even find a west-side tree hugger that will blame it on Global Warming!  That's why Al Gore didn't fill his tag last year!!!  Its crazy to see a bunch of people arguing over crappy hunting spots on public property with a 1% chance of success!  If you really want an elk and higher odds of success, just get a big huge bumper for your truck and drive highway 240 that goes through the Hanford site every morning a half an hour before sunrise and your odds of hitting a nice animal and putting it in the freezer are much higher than the Clockum or Yakima general rifle spike bull hunts.  You all think I'm joking but the odds are just as good or better!  I know a guy that has a 6x6 this year that way and a 6x6 last year the same way!  Two big bulls in two years!  How many of you have filled your tag two years in a row in those crappy areas!!!!  Sorry, its just frustrating to see over the last 10 years.  Don't waste your money on the tag!  Take your fishing pole next year instead of a gun!  That's a sure way to see a spike!!!
