Nate's bear
« on: September 25, 2018, 12:35:10 AM »
Tonight my  son who is 17 went to the Beary patch alone to see if the bears making all the tracks would show up. As he heard brush breaking a nice bear strolled down the old grade. A second slightly larger bear soon followed. Nate shot the larger Bear in the shoulder with his 7mm-08 hitting it hard. When he went to retrieve his bear the other bear false charged him and repeatedly stood on its hind legs growling at him 30 yards away. Nate finally ran it off by yelling and throwing rocks at it. The bear weighed 185 whole before field dressing it. Nate said it took him 3 tries to load the bear since it was heavy and limp.
