Never had a problem using the archery department there. And I don't know what a person makes there but that isn't one of my concerns when I need to have something done to my bow.
The two I have been in have been a joke, the one guy told me that a bow will shoot smoother after he paper tunes it, then we asked him how to put a scope on a bow, he said it screws into thw riser!!!! down this way they screw up a ton of stuff and the work for the most part has been sloppy at best......
I like Sportsmans because they actually provide customer service, every time I have been in there I've quickly had help if I needed it............Cabela's makes me wonder if anyone actually works in the store

Why in the hell would you give a seminar at a Sportsmans Wharehouse one week, then bash them a week later. Have some respect for yourself. Maintaining a relationship with a merchant like this should be a symbiotic relationship where you both benefit. Blessing a store you consider "a joke" with your presence is pathetic, arrogant and egotistical. If I did not like a particular store, thought they were "a joke", I would not accept an arrangement where I gave a seminar. Wouldn't do it. I would politely decline. I am an expert on very few if any topics. If I was, I would surely be careful to protect my image by only standing with others in the field who I believe have a good image. I would not hang my hat on a business I did not like. Good lord.
I'm sorry you have had trouble with your local Sportsman's. I believe you were in the Federal Way store recently doing a seminar on sturgeon. We didn't have a chance to talk, so I don't think your problems were with me In any case at least it's a legitimate complaint that has nothing to do with pay scales.

Im not sure how speaking the blantant truth is disrespectful? the archery Dep has nothing to do with fishing and I never said all of them are bad......
It can be real difficult to find good archery help. There just aren't that many archers in WA, and good bow mechanics are even rarer. I've been fortunate at the Federal way store to find some really good help, and I aint bad myself. Even so, we're human and we sometimes make mistakes. For example I tied in a D-loop for a soldier from Ft Lewis yesterday, and I don't know what went wrong, I've tied hundreds of D-loops, but this one broke, and that soldier came back to me with a busted lip, and pissed off . I felt, and still feel, like s**t. I did what I could to make it right, and when it was all said and done he accepted my appology and shook my hand. I still don't know if it was a flaw in the D-loop material, or my installation. In any case there is no perfect archery shop, because they are run and staffed by people, and people just aint perfect.
I have had only great experience in dealing with the Lacey Sportsmans Rod and Ray are awesome, I did have a little trouble with the silverdale one. I have dealt with the Federal Way one recently and they were friendly and stayed open even past closing to help us. I don't ever remember asking what they make per hour to see if they are qualified to work on my bow, that is ridicules.
A few days later I stopped by Sportco, I stood there looking at the archery stuff for a good 10minutes, and the guys wouldn't give me the time of day. They went on with their own conversation and do their thing but never went over to ask me if I needed anything. And that day was alittle with no other customers waiting for service but me.I am a faithful Sportco member and purchased nearly all of my outdoors supplies from them.
I have had problems in the silverdale one, Morons I think I helped more of the costumers then they did. They had by bow all screwed up, so i took there tools and tuned the bow myself. They dont know what there talking about they need to get new people in there... there use to be some real good people in there now it went to crap....
Well, My experience with Sportsmans warehouse was great some old old old guy named Larry helped meand did a great....
