Ive taken a couple short drives in the Horse Heavens west of Kennewick in hope of seeing some antelope but have not as yet though my bro in law who makes deliveries in the area told me he saw some a couple falls ago. I hope the cold weather this week does not hamper your survey.

So, I wonder how these antelope have acclimated to our harsh weather we have had the past few days? Wonder what the temperature difference between where they came from and what they are living in now.

Goats are crazy tough animals and I bet there is a great chance the weather here is better than where they came from.

Pronghorn have a history of big die offs in harsh winters.  They'll bunch up against fences and starve.  Stand on railroad tracks and get killed.  Hope they last awhile.

Given the cold weather gear the folks are wearing at the capture site, the location, and the snow on the ground...Id venture to say it's not too different there than here.

The groceries are certainly better here, have to wait and see with crusty deep snow and any blue tongue events.

The weather is definitely milder in WA than eastern Montana and Wyoming, I am more fearful of poachers killing antelope than WA weather.

We did some surveys on Wednesday and Thursday with Yakama Nation, WDFW and SCI volunteers weather was miserable at best as there was a plane flying grids in the air over a large area. It almost turned out that the ground crews had better success finding lopes than the plane. Again weather was bad but we did at least find 250+ antelope. We definitely missed some but they are still there and seem fo be finding plenty to eat..it is not far for them to travel to some of the crop circles however they do not seem to use them. They prefer to use CRP or natural areas over any wheat farming or irrigated areas.

I have a family member that said he really thinks he saw a antelope east of Moses lake in a field off of  -90? Are their antelope in areas off I-90?

East of Moses would not be a surprise, they have scattered all over the place.  You will find them on the alfalfa pivots when things dry out, pretty easy living right now.

I saw one last Friday about 1 mile east of Ritzville. It was standing in some sagebrush not 75 yards from I90. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

I saw 2 or 3 (can't remember now) about the same place back in April.

My girlfriend called me on Friday after seeing two antelope off of I-90 just east of Ritzville.

huh, i was headed back to spokane after a weekend in Walla Walla and somewhere along the route through tri cities and ritzville, I saw an animal out in a field that looked the WAY wrong color for a deer. had a very orangish hue to it. My brain said pronghorn, but i didn't know they'd gotten that far east. can't remember exactly where it was
