Maybe he wasn't keen on discussing either WDFW's strategies or successes in a room of hunters.

Do you know if he was even invited? Why wasn't Oregon or Montana there?

Quite honestly this time of the year is not the time when a Director for a WA St agency should be out of state. It's the legislative session so it's time to sit down with legislators to get them to pass bills relating to their respective agency, of course of most importance is the upcoming two year budget. I'd rather have the WDFW Director sitting in Olympia right now meeting with legislators (fixing the damage done by Unsworth) than at the SCI Convention  :twocents:

Arguably just as important is working the NOF and other fisheries issues that are happpening right now too. His plate should be round the clock full right now.

It could be he viewed this symposium as a bragging session and knew he had absolutely nothing to add for content?
