Going to be in the market for a new release after having a spring failure in 2 Scott mongoose xt. What are your guys recommendations?

I like a hook style index release, for the past couple of years have been shooting a spot Hogg wisguy and before that a carter.

I went through 2 in 2 hunting seasons. The spring in behind the trigger snapped in the exact same spot. I really liked the release and contacted Scott about the issue but didn’t hear back from them

After years of firing Scott little goose, and itty bitty goose without fail, I decided to switch things up, changing to a hook and adjusting my trigger control a  bit. while ultimately it seems to be the right decision it has been a road with some significant potholes.

Here's some quick highlights......
   If you switch from a caliper to hook make sure you shoot and compare both if using one for backup.
   Make sure if it's an exposed sear (Scott Rhino) it's maintained and bring an appropriate allen in case the adjustment gets kinky and your release fire prematurely and bloodys your nose 8 miles in the back country. Thankfully I was "test" firing.
    If using the Carter ( great releases) avoid the models with magnets, especially the ones with magnets to adjust trigger weight, this may be a non factor depending on where you hunt, but if you hunt where it's possible to pick up iron ore than it WILL have an impact.

I like my Scott Shark, but will admit I don't shoot as much as I should. My wife shoots the same release so we are interchangeable.

I shoot a Scott Echo Release. It is a really smooth release. Also, there is no difference in the amount a trigger pressure required when shooting bows at different draw weights.

Been shooting Scott releases for a couple years and loved them. This year I switched to the spott Hogg whipper snapper thumb release and I’ve never looked back. Groups are tighter and I don’t have anything on my wrist.

I've been shooting a Tru-Fire Edge buckle release for quite a few years. They have a Foldback model, where the arm folds back over your wrist and out of the way. It's great for hiking in/out, at 3-D shoots, etc.
Operation and fit will be pretty similar to the mongoose release. Great adjustability for length and tension too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve looked at the thumb releases but I like the wrist releases just for the security of not loosing the release in the woods

I carry two of the wrist buckle releases just in case.  Tend to leave them on a log when doing paperwork out in the woods.  Usually remember pretty quickly and go back to fetch it but just in case I have the backup.

Just picked up a backup tru ball 4 finger caliper, cant find a reason to switch
