Okay, hold the phone, you can buy a 55 gallon drum of Lucky Charms marshmallows for $65
FYI michias, there’s a guy down here that brings in bear bait buy the semi load and sells it at cost, he guided up out of Riggins. Frosting, gummies all that stuff. Not real close to you but closer than the mid west. You call him up he’ll ask you how many tons you want. I just picked up my first load from him Friday. Got my tree stand up today. Getting close

No offense, but think its crazy to pay so much for 3 baits? As some have said, use local outlets. Before the ban here, I would run 20-30 baits, all funded by local restaurants, bakeries, and grocers. All free, all sights stocked daily, all with multiple bears. Would always start the sites with woodchuck, beaver, etc...

Would always start the sites with woodchuck, beaver, etc...No offense taken. 2 years ago I ran 3 baits with the bait I got from Bob's Bear Bait. Cost me a $1000. Last year I ran nothing but local baits. Had plenty of bait and total cost was around $125. 2 years ago I passed on a couple of bears and did not take a bear, but could have. Last year I did not see a bear, but two nice bears were taken off the the baits. But the difference was VERY noticeable in the activity level from the year before. I had multiple bears on baits in an area where several other baits were located in the same general area. Last year same areas, you could tell the bear activity was way down, probably because I was using the same baits as all the other folks were using. I think you are 100% right if you are hunting an area that few other guys and gals are baiting. But I think it might be worth it in an area with increased competition. I'm thinking of combining the two, local baits with some pallets of frosting. I think that will give me an edge...maybe not, but it will be fun to see. Also even though your bait was free or not too expensive, you do have to add in all the time and gas money going around collecting the bait as opposed to picking it up all at once. Just a thought.
