Poop hole
« on: March 28, 2019, 09:25:29 PM »
Anyone care to disclose a dump station between the blues and the triciites.
We are new to the RV world and figured I better learn where these things are now that I will be traveling with a large portable pooper, I know the family will use it over the tree that they have used with tent camping.
I've never done this dump station process thing before but I know the first step is actually finding a place to dump the tanks.
Will be going next weekend for our inaugural trip in the travel trailer;

Not sure about that area, but a lot of the rest stops have dump stations. A box of disposable latex gloves is great to keep in the storage area.

Thanks, that will be handy.

Got two boxes of gloves stashed in the trailer and thanks for the rest stop tip, I had no idea, as I am not sure if I have ever stopped at one, as odd as that sounds.

I use campendium.com

Side note, one time we pulled up to dump knowing tank was about 1/2 full, and I see the black tank lever has been pulled or rattled open. Popping the cap off the end of the tube was real fun.

A lot of parks will let you use their dump stations. I think all state parks do.

There is one at the Quick Stop, just West of Donna's café in Pomeroy, WA.

There is one at the Last Resort, on the Tucannon RD, in the Valley.

Good luck finding the poop hole. :chuckle:

The Farmers Co-OP at 706 W. Rose, Walla Walla, WA 99362 has a free dump site. You could also use the Lewis&Clark state park between Dayton and Waitsburg but that one costs money.

A little Black water tank cleaning tip/trick
This is more for when your storing it or whenever you want to do it.
After dumping the tank  dump a bag or two of crushed ice in it and 5 or so gallons of water and then go for a little drive to agitate the stuff in the tank then go dump it.
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

There’s a dump at the Texaco just as your leaving Dayton.  I believe the dump is free if you fill up with gas

We used rest stops a few times when we had a 5th wheel. There convenient and the lines can be long  :twocents: Camping in the woods we also might use a campground that had a station. Sometimes free sometimes $5 just depended who was manning the office.
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.
