Fender Flares
« on: April 24, 2019, 08:21:01 AM »
Anybody out there have fender flares on their trucks? I have a 1999 F250 Superduty and thinking about putting some on it. Any suggestions on style and brands to look at? I want something that looks somewhat aggressive but I don't want to cut the fenders.

The pocket ones are popular but I don't care for them but it's a personal choice

The stock ones on my Colorado are rubbing the paint off underneath, kind of like how the old plastic insert bedliners that went over the siderails would rub the paint off but not as bad as that.

Your 20 year old pickup is probably scuffed up enough that it wouldnt matter if you put them on then took them back off a year later.

I want flares for my 2005 Dodge also, but after seeing what they do the paint, and the rust they cause, I'm having second thoughts. I'm sure if you're very careful when you install them, and secure them with some double sided tape or even a bead of silicone, you would be alright. Definitely read up on it before just slapping them on.

Look up "fender flare paint damage" and see what can happen.

Don't remember the brands but I like what mine added. Not too aggressive but gives a bit of a wider look.
