Thumbs up to Leupold
« on: May 07, 2019, 03:17:02 PM »
Had to send in my Leupold lps 2.5-10 that I have had for years, it wasn’t holding zero anymore. Sent it in and got the notification they received it. Was a little upset as they told me it was going to be 36 working days. Well didn’t need it now anyway. Couple weeks go by and I get another email from Leupold saying I need to contact them regarding my scope. So I give them a call and they tell me there is a part they no longer make for the Leupold lps. He tells me that they are going to replace it. I told him that will work, in my mind hoping it will be a comparable scope. That lps had amazing glass. He goes on to tell me that they are send me a Leupold xv5 hd in 2-10x42!! :IBCOOL: I told him thank you! He said it will go out this week.
This is the first scope I have sent them and have been more then happy with there service so big thumbs up to Leupold for there great service.

Top notch service which is why all my rifles have one mounted on them.  Just picked up a VX6hd a few weeks ago.

‘Wasn’t holding zero anymore ‘ is why I own zero Leupold optics.
Your story gets told way too often.
My Burris FFII doesn’t need replaced and it gets tortured.

This sounds more like a vortex story to me......I have yet to have a leupold scope fail but have had vortex, zeiss and Burris fail.

One of at least everything has been sent in for warranty work.  That’s why stuff has warranties and people get trained and paid to fix stuff.  People say the same thing about Toyota trucks that you say about Burris optics. Keep that in mind.

Leupold is making some great scopes these days.  The Mark 5HD's are rock solid and a helluva piece of glass at a price point that is less than some very stiff competition. They are a lot lighter too.

My vx5 hd is a great addition so far.  If I had 3k I would have something else, but I’m very happy with what I have.

I have had vortex fail many times. Had two viper hs that would have zero shifts, one vortex razor gen 1 fail on tracking, one Leupold mark 4 failed tracking, and now this Leupold. So far my Burris xtr2 has been rock solid other then sub par glass, my Athlon scopes so far have been flawless. Every manufacturer has scopes that fail to some degree, nightforce, Schmidt and bender etc. Most all company’s have very good warranty’s and take care of there customer.

Couldn't agree more.

How can you know something is junk owning zero of it?

I’ll take leupold over any Burris personally. IMO burris is a garbage company with garbage warranty’s.

They have top notch customer service and have always been good to me with anything I needed. That being said, I’ve had a vx3i and recently a VX5HD both not dial back down to zero from shooting longer distances. I’m sure every manufacturer out there has had to do warranty work but I can’t take the chance on this happening again. I switched to a different brand on all my rifles and have been very happy so far.

This is my thought. If my vx5 cds dial fails to return to zero I will have it warrantied then it will be for sale. I can have it not return to zero. I am going to test it out this weekend out to 600.
