Went a couple of times 10 or so years ago.  The fishing was pretty good, but the resort had a lot of "hidden" charges.  For example, the cabin came with a boat.  They brought a boat over with a small outboard motor on it, but didn't tell us the motor was extra until we were checking out.  Not much hot water in the cabins either.

Never been there myself but I have a good friend that does a family trip there every year.  They have nothing but good things to say and always come home with a cooler full of large rainbows.  I'd imagine it's good for crawdads too but can't say for sure.

*edit to add... I'm not sure where they stay or camp, only that they go to twin lakes and enjoy it.

Personally I would go to the Log Cabin resort on South Twin the fishing is excellent and there are crawdads in there. Are you after bass or trout?

:yeah: I’ve stayed at the Log Cabin Resort and fished south twin for Rainbows and LM Bass . Nothing big on Bass and good size bows, been 6 or so yrs, the Bows were covered in a lice. Still ate fine.  :dunno:

My Mom owns a cabin there. Had some great fishing in the spring! I did some scuba diving around the docks this summer and found some neat little treasures. I did see a few booner crawdads hiding in some pipes and old broken bottles. Might be worth throwing a pot out. Make sure you get the reservation licenses and check their rules.

I fished it last year over fathers day for a couple days. Lots of small bass, did get one about 4 lbs, rest were 8 to 13 inches. Caught a lot of big trout also. Trolled a straight slowdeath with half a crawler and 1/4 ounce of weight at 1.5 mph. Could hardly get it in the water.

My grandparents used to have a place at Rainbow Beach, I spend every summer there till I was about 12.  There used to be a big wagon wheel painted on a rock over on the west bank of north twin that was a popular spot for trolling.  That's going back quite a few years though.

I haven't been there in years and drove through Rainbow Beach this summer, it was sad to see how they've just kind of let the place go and everything looked a little run down.  It sure didn't look like that back when Jac Charbonneau owned it.

I did talk to a dad and his son at the little store and they said the rainbow fishing had been really good.

I fished South Twin a few times this spring, lots of big trout. Smallest was 17", all were really good eating.
