This one is 354'. I can see it being close to 400'
I don’t see 400”.375 tops.
Have you ever even seen a 400" bull???  :chuckle:
can’t say that I have but I’ve definitely fondled a 400” bull. :chuckle:

Beautiful bull congrats to the hunter .
And no wonder people stop post pictures on the site with all the internet official SCI / B&C / P&Y scorers .

Well... when you post pictures of your animal on social media with #bigbull, #400club, #hugeelk, etc I guess you get the good with the bad...

I saw this bull for a moment in the back of the truck driving by I thought 380 looking at the 8 point side. I have also looked at many pictures. I don’t think some pictures do it justice. I have photo scored it from the first pic I saw and have a hard time getting over 370.

A friend who has laid hands on it and knows elk (he guides elk) says it’s bigger than the pictures make it look. I’ll trust him.

PS: Don’t ask where I saw it as I’m not going to say.
pics can be deceiving but not that much. It is a very nice bull just saying no way 400”.

All I’m gonna say is if any of you guys knew the shooter, you’d know that he’d rather eat his tag then shoot something under 400”... because he’s killed multiple 400” bulls. Pictures can be deceiving but just remember, big bodies and big frames sometimes make long tines look shorter. I’m gonna go back into my silent hole now and keep chuckling over the comments.

Yeah I get that , but if someone knows the score why do people have to doubt it , or say no way I only see 320" etc. I known of multiple record book anilmals that will never see the light of day , or their stories told ( which is sad ) because of Internet scorers .

Stud bull for sure. Awesome job. Sounds like the guide had some history with this bull. Would love to see some velvet trail cam pictures of him.

Not sure why people who post their scores or say they shot a 500 lb bear give two craps what others think? I’m learning slowly to just keep my opinions to myself, not all of them, but most of them, to myself on this site.  My opinion on if this bull is over 400”,.....who cares!! Nice bull
“In common with”..... not so much!!

I agree- it is sad. I think this is an excellent animal. I have zero skill at scoring though. I just saw an animal that was posted with a lot of #'s touting its virtues. That is always going to bring out challengers I guess. Maybe they could have posted it up with a challenge to guess the score? Maybe it would have less opposition? Idk, I guess I really don't care either way.

Congratulations to the shooter!

People will always *censored* on these animals and hunters. Not sure why but it always happens. People toss out numbers but will almost never break down how they came up with it. "No way that's 400", but then you ask to clarify and you get silence.  So lets break it down and let's be CONSERVATIVE on the numbers and see what we get.

Mass: 29 a side for 58.

Mains: 55 for 110

Right side: g1-18, g2-18, g3-12, g4-20, g5-16, g6-6, for a total of 90

Left side: g1-18, g2-17, g3-12, g4-20, g5-17, g6-7, g7-1, for a total of 92.

110+58+92+90=350"

Now none of the pics show spread very well so let's just throw 38 at it and you get 388".

If I'm off 1 inch on each of the main tines that's 12". Probably has a better spread than 38, and wouldn't surprise me a bit if he had a bit more on the beams. So to say "no way that bull goes 400 is just a silly comment.

Now I could be an inch long on everything and he's 365 but I'm not gonna see "no way he goes this much or that much" :chuckle:

Congrats to the shooter and guide! Stud bull!

If that bulls not 400” he’s right there close. An 8x7 like that racks up quite a few extra points over a clean six.
