204 quality buck
« on: September 23, 2019, 08:27:35 PM »
Drew this tag and although I should have spend some weekends scouting I failed.Due to my elk obsession I spent all my scouting time on the wapiti. I have combed through every thread I have seen about this area. I have a decent idea of spots to start my hunt but if anyone would like to share any pointers with me I'm all ears. I'm a blacktail hunter who is looking to hang my tag on a mature muley.

Haha is this really that strange? I don't know how many threads I've read where fellow hunters are looking for help. Just thought I'd go fishing

Never hurts to ask! if I had info to help ide throw it your way but it really irritates some individuals on here when people who have never posted come asking for help and then after the season is over they are never to be heard from again. Happens a lot. Good luck on your hunt hope find a good one and post it up

I'll admit I've been a long time lurker. Mostly because I haven't had much to add, but I'll try my hand and doing a little write up about this hunt after it reaches its conclusion.

Go over during the regular season and scout it out there is plenty of public land in that unit. I had never hunted the Entiat unit and drew that tag in 2016. Spent a few days towards the end of the regular season and found a couple large groups of Does. Went back the first week of November when the tag was good and shot a nice four point about a 1/4 mile from where I found the Does a few weeks earlier. It's not rocket surgery, it's Mule Deer in the rut.

Best of luck, post pictures and a story!

It may not be rocket surgery, but it can make it difficult to hunt when the sh@$ hawks are all over you and your hunting partner can’t shut up about how silly his wife’s mating name was.

Rocket surgery?

I'm guessing that's like Brain Surgery and Rocket Science combined. I'm glad Mule deer hunting isn't Rocket Surgery because that sounds real hard.
