I have a set of elk horns with a bullet hole through one horn. I would not think of fixing it.
Keep him the way you got him. The damage adds character.

I like real.  A buddy of mine gets everything repaired and colored up.  Whatever floats your boat!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

 What about repairs from damage that occurs as a result of the critter taking a tumble after the shot?

 This buck broke off the Rg4 as it did summersaults down a steep hill.

Keep him the way you recovered him, I could of had his ear fixed, but all year, every pic of him, his ear was hanging. He was dubbed “Broken ear” the warrior.
