Last time I fished that lake with my kids 8 or 9 years ago.  Fishing was awesome...we couldn't keep two rods in the water and had our 15 in an hour or so.  All excited, we go to the cleaning station, and start gutting them.  As soon as you would slit them open, a mass of crawling worms would come oozing out.  All 15 of them!! :puke:  Kids looked at me and said no way dad!!  Never been back

Yeah last year we got lucky and didn’t run into any infected fish. Ide day your probably good just cook’em just a bit longer! :drool:

 Nothing new . The parasites have always been there some years are worse than others . I caught fish 20 years ago that looked the same .

As gross as it is, most gut worms do not affect the meat. The best thing is to gut as soon as landing them. Even worms in the meat, though unappetizing, are not harmful when the fish is cooked properly.
