First off Im not saying hes not 4 years old, but I am pointing out that if he was a june born or july born fawn he would have been at 3.5 or 4.5 years of age at time of harvest, not straight up 4.Reason I point this out is there are various articles from QDMA and others that have actual records of deer from farms and since they know actual age, they can compare results they receive from state game agencies. It is said to be common for the tests to be +- 1 year and sometimes more. That will be interesting to hear what they say since you have a pretty close idea of what it should be already. So the built in 1/2 year default plus the inherent +- leaves one to believe its only an estimate. I am waiting on the results from my buck from 11-15-2019 that we have pictures of him from 2013 and every consecutive year. We'll see if they are close with their +-.
WDFW claim this buck was 2 yr old (2.5) at kill.
