I understand the mirage just havent managed to convert to practice. Not sure if its because I only shoot first light, or eyesight or focus.

At a mile you wind at target isn’t quite right either most of the time. That bullet is flying quite high from los. Typically I’ll look for the strongest wind I can see and go from there

Not a bad practice. Max ord can be near 50ft at beyond 1000yds. If you can see the mirage up there, use that. I agree with you 100%. That’s what i do. I then adjust off that dope. I have an erb7 retical (Christmas tree.) love it.

You can’t see mirage up there. Sorry if I wasn’t clear in my first post. What I mean is if your seeing mirage at target that’s mostly 5mph ish but once in a while it gusts up to 10ish. I’ll use my 10 mph dope on my first shot because wind up there is stronger with less terrain resistance on the wind. At mile most cartridges will between 75-130’ above line of sight at max ord.
