Try running your tyvek through the washing machine and air dry.
:yeah: wash it and it will be as quiet as a sheet on your bed at home

I washed it last night, made a huge difference.

Now I need to get my buddy to do the same.  He tosses and turns like a fish out of water.
I had a tyvek bivy before they were cool.  Also before I had money for anything nicer.  Hope it saved you some cash!

Cash and some sleep.

Sleeping on a bag of potato chips was getting old.

Is it still water resistant on the one side after washed?

In my experience yes, but I generally have a tarp.  I’ve never taken an all night drenching in a Tyvek bivy.  Tyvek bivy camping without a tarp is for mountaineers on technical ascents or savages.  Currently keep an OR bivy in my box-o-tents.  Bombproof insurance in winter.

So I washed the Tyvek and it’s much much quieter.  But still loud.
Instead of a bag of potato chips, it’s more like an empty bag of potato chips
Certainly not quiet.
What’s the secret?

Tried a waterproof spaceblanket type bivy- bag was dripping wet in couple hours from inside condensation.  Threw it bivy in dumpster.

Yeah those are good for keeping you alive and that’s about it.  Any Bivy is going to get condensation and I don’t recommend them anymore because there are very light weight tent options now that didn’t exist even ten years ago.  I use mine in winter or in combination with a light poncho tarp sometimes in other seasons just to keep a tiny and discreet camp, but you have to be committed to what is basically cowboy camping with an extra layer of emergency protection.  I am in the backcountry far more often just hiking and camping than hunting, and don’t always need room for larger packs with a rifle and other tools.  If I’m by myself for three days or less and have more than 20 pounds on my back, I feel like I am Carrying too much crap.
