Rubbed clean!

Just saw a decent 3 point already rebbes clean. Seems awfully early

I’ve been seeing 3-10 bucks a day for the last month on my drives. This morning I saw a small 4pt with some velvet hanging, he had just started rubbing. I thought it was early too.

What would shedding velvet early indicate? An early fall maybe?

I've seen BT bucks clean of velvet as early as 15 August on cam, which tells me that it rubbed it off prior to that date.  I've never seen/read any  any stories indicating that the dates they loose their velvet has anything to do with how the seasons will progress.

Every deer is an individual, and will not precisely fit into the mold of what we hunters expect the deer to be doing.  For me, I'd just expect that I wouldn't see that deer again until the rut (if it was a BT) ......but that's just me.

I once saw a whitetail in 231 unit who was rubbed clean in mid August. The cool thing was his antlers were basically white but had a pinkish hew from the blood/velvet. Anyone else ever see them with whitish antlers right after the rub?

Yeah most whitetails that I have seen and get on camera antlers look bleached except for the red from the blood
