Eastern Coyotes - GMUs to concentrate on for newer callers
« on: November 12, 2020, 11:10:41 AM »
My old man has been calling coyotes out here off and on for about 8 years but his age along with a couple blood clots and nerve damage to his leg have led to less and less shooting and calling unfortunately. I was never much interested in varmint hunting growing up but seeing as he has all the necessary equipment (whole foxpro digital call line up decoys etc) I'd give it a shot during the offseason. He doesn't have the stamina for scouting but I figure if I can get out and do the scouting, find easy access in and line up the hunts I'll have a better chance of getting him out there with me.

Any helpful tips on where I could start looking would be much appreciated, I'd like to focus on 121, 117 areas but open and willing to travel anywhere in the general Eastern side.

If you're in the valley I'd head south. Then you don't run into the risk of calling in those pesky "big coyotes" and it's a blast calling in yotes over big snow covered Palouse hills.

Any night gear yet? Yakima area is pretty good too.
