awesome lookin critters ya got there...that is one big bruin...what did he weigh? nice pelts also...do u still trap those things?

Here's my cheesie pic of my biggest.  It attracted quitea crowd at the gas station as word spread of his kill.  At the time he was 33 7/8 and is currently #3 for archery in the state.  He grosses 194ish if I remember right and nets close to 180.

 WHO THE HECK IS THAT GUY IN THE PICTURE????

hogsniper, thanks it was an early spring Alberta bear with an amazing coat, he weighed roughly 300 and that is coming out of hibernation.  I do still trap, in fact I am waiting on a permit to trap some beaver near Edwall.

Machias what do they give u, is it the damage permits or something? can you only trap problem areas?? what do you do with em after u get em?

Hogsniper, yes I can only trap when there is a complaint.  I have to apply for a special permit to use the banned traps.  I normally tan them and have stuff made, I have a really nice beaver hat and mittens made from the last bunch.  We better not hijack this thread anymore though.  When I posted my photos I should have paid attention this was in the deer section and not posted the other three photos.  Sorry everyone.
