Snoqualmie River - Fall City to Carnation

Has anyone ever floated from the Richter #1 launch in Fall City to the Lower Tolt launch near Carnation? Wondering how long it might take around this time of year. And is it doable in a 12' v-hull with no motor? I think it drafts 8" or so.

It would probably take about a year and a half to make that float. It’s basically all frog water with little to no current. You’d be rowing the whole way. Some really skinny water too. There’s virtually no reason under the sun to do it.

I've done it in a driftboat. There was a lot of rowing. You could do it in the boat you describe just be aware of dead heads and a few pretty skinny spots like Jackelope said.

Did that last weekend  I'm currently researching 24 volt systems for my drift boat. It's not bad down to Douglas Bar, but beyond that is mind numbing, especially with an incoming tide and north wind. Ugh.

Really I want to scout a few potential duck hunting spots that are only publicly accessible from the river. Hoping to convince a buddy to do the float with me by saying it’s a fishing float. I’ll have a trolling motor to help with the slow spots.

Yeah, I'd love for the Lords Hill park under 522 to put a launch in. County land on the river, just punch a ramp in. Don't see the hold up.

It's about 7.3 miles so assuming a trolling motor at 100% speed will push 5 MPH and draw at most 40 amps...a 100 AH battery should be plenty. With current it'll probably be faster than that, so I'm guessing with a trolling motor around an hour?

Don't have the funds right now for one but when I do get it and do this float I'll make sure to post the results. Or maybe I'll float it anyway just to drift fish.

As long as we’re comparing boring drifts on the Snohomish system, I did Carnation to Duvall once. That was a dumb idea.

But seriously, it’s an easy river as long as you’re willing to row.

The second half was just a long row through frog water. Definitely could have used a motor on that one. I was hoping to find coho but no sign of life when I was there.
