Governor's tag buck ???
« on: December 07, 2020, 04:01:50 PM »
I am just curious if anyone knows if the tag holder has taken a buck yet. A little birdie told me that the tag holder was in an area that I had a late archery draw tag. I happened to see a gigantic 3x3 there one day that would be tag worthy. The 3x3 was wider and way bigger than this 28-30inch forkie from the same area. Unfortunately the buck slipped away from me in some big sage before I ever had a chance to chase him.

I’m sure some of the tag licking fan club boys that follow these hunts around will have some info for ya!

Pretty sure I got a pic of that buck dead. Buddy drew the 3 deer raffle tag. 31 1\2" wide. Cool deer.

Nice buck. But I highly doubt an auction tag holder Is going to shoot a 3x3.

I think it's a disservice to the tag calling it a governor's tag.. considering our current situation...

Did they get a big buck yet? I seen a picture of a big buck but not sure if it was that tag that goes to Jay’s retirement fund?

Washington technically doesn’t have “governors tags” like other states where the governor actually delegates the tags. Here they’re really just auction tags that the governor has nothing to do with.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

I think the only Western state that actually has a tag still called a "governors tag" is Wyoming.  But I don't believe it is issued by the governor.  Every other wester state has went to raffle, auction, commissioner, etc.
