I'm no political junkie...whats with all these "Executive orders"? I do not seem to remember hearing this term so much before Obama took office. Has the president always had these powers or does this have to do when Harry Reed did the nuclear option...whatever exactly that was. Post 9/11 changes giving the President more authority perhaps? How did our governor get so much power that he can shut businesses down? Its like the state legislature disappeared and we have gone with the Putin style of government.Very frustrating.
Oh boy, more politics on a hunting website. I try to avoid these posts, but can't let the misinformation stand.....1) Wolfbait changed the word "violence" to "control". Am assuming to get a rise out of you folks.2) Biden has not stated he is doing an executive order on gun control. Wolfbait linked to a far right website claiming they know what Biden is going to do (yeah that's believable) referencing a statement from somebody about enacting an executive order on gun violence. 3) Executive orders is a topic because Biden has to undo so many of Trump's orders. Granted, Trump lost almost 90% of the lawsuits against his executive orders because they were unconstitutional so those orders were tossed. But there are still alot to fix. And McConnel is likely going to pull the same "one term president" blockade like he did to Obama so EO's are going to get used for lots of stuff. They shouldn't have to be used.....but McConnel is McConnel, always has been...4) Obama never enacted a gun control executive order. He specifically stated he wouldn't because that would require a legislative action as it impacted a constitutional right. He did enact a gun violence EO, and am guessing Biden is thinking along the same lines (remember Biden is probably the most moderate Democrat in DC). The bump stock EO. Surprisingly the supreme court refused to hear that appeal....I was shocked they didn't overturn that one. Conservative president impeded your second amendment rights, and conservative majority SCOTUS refused to hear the case.....
