Weyerhaeuser to sell N Cascades property
« on: May 12, 2021, 02:08:11 PM »
Just got an email that Weyerhaeuser is selling the N Cascades permit area to Hampton.

Goodbye access permit.
I left it better than I found it...did you?
I hunt animals because veggies are too easy to stalk.

Just checked their website and they already pulled that permit off there. Sucks 20 minutes from my house. Oh well.

We used to hunt on Hampton land. They had pretty liberal access  :dunno:
Charlie Kirk didn't speak hate, they hated what he said. Don't get it twisted.

From Hampton's website:

Washington: All lands currently OPEN.

Works for me

The email mentions that current permit holders will be contacted by Hampton in July.

I know they have pretty liberal access, but let's face it....east Skagit Co gets a lot of trash and timber theft. I won't hold my breathe that they open any gates.

Personally, I like the pay to play program.
It hurts the pocketbook, but it's darn nice hunting for four months and only running into a half dozen or so people the entire time.

Not throwing this up here to offend, but Weyco's fee access program up here was BS in my opinion. Blocked access to  state and other private lands that otherwise allow access. Not to mention the fact that they hammered the hell out of a few watersheds. Oh, and they restricted access to their connected ownership for the North Skagit spring bear hunt and (I believe?) Nooksack bull tag hunts.
Good bye and good riddance as far as I'm concerned!

Darrington should be happy. Not sure weyco was going to continue the supply.

Now closed  :bash: Was hoping it would be open since it's 10 minutes from my place but not surprised considering how Green Mtn. gets hammered.

Did they close it because of fire danger?
My interpretation of the rules are open to interpretation.
Once I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.
