I was reading up on this whole thing the other day. I do not agree with this at all. It is also very unnerving to me the amount of people that are willing to look past something like this. I always give people the benefit of the doubt, but to me this is not ok. I am not one for discussing politics or partisan issues but you cant tell me this is the best person we could come up with!?!? Do I think that she honestly cares about the administering of federal lands and their proper use? yes probably. Do I think that there is another agenda at play? 100% absolutely. Give an inch and they will take a mile. We do not have many more inches to give......

I don't give her a pass for spiking trees

With so many well qualified people, I expect the best, not these people with baggage.

And I don't care right or left, nominees should be spotless
To be clear- she didn't spike trees...she testified in a case that got others charged with spiking trees.

I agree that nominees should be a good fit, no one is spotless.  IMO she is an improvement over Pendley, but maybe not 100% perfect.  I think she will be good for hunters though.

Not going to argue as I can't do anything about it anyway, but I do hope you're right.

  • That's what she said
I agree with her politics so matter what crimes she committed I support and  anyways Trump is to blame. The leader at conservation NW is also a self admitted eco terrorist and I imagine Mitch is a close friend of hers as they were members in the same terrorist organization.

She has zero experience running and managing a large organization but her left wing radical politics makes her unquestionably qualified to manage our public lands. She could not even qualify for a basic background clearance because of her terrorist ties and that would exclude her from many entry level govt jobs. . This is such crazy logic but normal these days. Just like BHA leadership pushing gun bans to help back country hunters.

talk about cognitive dissonance.  :chuckle: :chuckle:

I’m not sure sending a letter on someone else’s behalf makes her a terrorist.

Maybe just an eco-terrorist sympathizer ?

It was probably forgivable 20 years ago....she was an undergrad at UM when all this went down in the late 80's... she's not exactly an eco terrorist.

Do you actually have evidence of BHA supporting gun bans? Would like to see that.

Either I guess. I would like to see what initiatives they have put forth or statements they have made to show they are against gun ownership.
