You can if they are available. You have to bring in your deer tag and turn the old tag in.

What's the best way to do it if I was want the deer/elk/bear/cougar/small game license but I also would like to get a leftover multiseason deer license?

I haven't purchased any license yet.

Did you apply for the multi season deer tag and not get drawn? If you did not apply for it you cannot purchase a leftover one

They might draw left over deer tags? Then what? They sell leftovers after those people don’t buy them?

Have never heard of a left over draw here in WA.  If wdfw. Would make people front the money for the tags like other states this wouldn't be an issue and the people that don't really want the tags wouldn't be appling.

. They won’t do another drawing. All they care about now is that they sell them and they get their filthy money. That’s all they care about. All of the tags will be sold over the counter like in all the years past.

An idea here, multi-season permit application fee of $25.  If you get drawn and dont buy the tag, application fee forfeited.  If you are drawn and buy the tag, the $25 application fee is applied to the cost of the tag.  Also, if you are drawn, you have 30 days to purchase.

This would eliminate most of the problem as it weeds out those not serious about the permit.  Draw, one and done.  No second chances. The whole permit system needs to be streamlined.   :twocents:

I just spoke to a rep from the game dept.  He told me the leftover multi season deer tags will go on sale next Wednesday (specific details TBD). I believe he said there were approximately +/- 2300 available. Purchase can be made online or at a license vendor.  A press release with all of the details should be out in the next couple of days.

As for leftover multi season elk, he indicated that the department would be contacting the runners up from the original drawing and offering them for purchase.

Good luck everyone!

IIRC, 2300 is about the normal number. Sounds like business as usual again this year with the exception of being able to buy them online.

Thanks for the update!

If its true that they will offer the elk tags to runners up I like that a lot better than the flash mob wing & prayer!
