Why?
« on: August 01, 2021, 06:01:39 AM »
People crack me up. This will end up being another "Some Dbag stole my Tcam" post.

This Browning cam was literally 2' off a very well traveled FS road, pointed directly across the road. Looking for a "travel route" i would assume.  :chuckle: :chuckle: A passing vehicle would need to be blind not to see it.

PS at least it was cable locked on the tree.

I’ve seen cameras pointed at well traveled state forest roads feet away from the road… it makes me think it isn’t hunters setting them up.

"I hung my camera well off the beaten path"   :chuckle:

This is the first thing that would come out of the owners mouth when it does get stolen!!!!  LOL  Then it will continue with how "if they catch the thieve, they will feed them to the bears......." :chuckle:!!  "I can't believe someone would carry bolt cutters or a sawzall that far back off the beaten path just to steal a camera!!"   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

All of this is in gest....but still pretty close to how most of these post originate I'm sure.

Actually… maybe he hiked in from the gated road, and everyone else drove down the mainline. Fresh tracks in the road BINGO. Hang the cam here

The Eyes in the Woods guys set up cameras like that too.  Usually another one nearby.  They like to have them near curves/turns so they can get license plates going either direction.

Once had an LEO ask me why all of his cameras were getting stolen. Told him to hide them better and he's had success ever since then not having one stolen and busting people left and right.

Seen one last year basic same thing.
But where it was at maybe 500 feet up the road was washed out a few years ago .
So where they put it up was where you would back up and turn around.
Just like the one in the photo ,right next to road.
I get it that it's public ground and anybody can shoot photos or videos.
Eyes in the woods guys........
I'am I going to get blamed when someone dumps some trash. Just because let's say I was there in the day light.
But the guy that dumps trash go by at 100 mph at nite and they get a few photos of darkness .

It was also pretty convenient that my cam was up on the ridge above said road ,a ways from the road.
Where I was parking to walk in was a ways from the washout. But when I put the cam up I know that the cam by the road was not there. But if you where to follow the ridge out it would come out at the washout and where there cam was by the road.
Anyway I thought it was lazy.
Seen it one other time walking behind closed gate.
Maybe 3-4 miles in ,took a spur road almost to the end here is this cam on a tree right next to road.
Just kinda lazy .

Wonder if it is fish and game trying to catch some one or something on there?
Do it right the first time,

I've seen a few cams in places like that. I've often wondered if it was some sort of 'tweaker watch' issue.
