When we pulled out of Little Naches on Sunday the 7th, there were lots of county rigs and SAR rigs parked at Whistlin' Jacks and further down on 410. Looked like they were having a meeting of sorts in the parking lot as there were about 100 or more people all gathered around. Way more than when we went in on Thursday the 4th.

Hope this has a good outcome.

I agree with this, and I'm hopeful. But I have to believe that if he had fire they would have found him by now.

Pretty tough to get lost in that area, he would know better to just walk down hill, lots of roads. Hate to be pessimistic but this sounds more and more like a medical problem or accident. Hope they find him for closure for the family.

I agree with this, and I'm hopeful. But I have to believe that if he had fire they would have found him by now.

I feel the same way. Keep that fire burning and there would be a smoke trail to find him. I'm getting pretty worried with so much time having passed. I live above 20 miles east of this area as the crow flies and my windshield and lawn have been totally frozen over the last two mornings. Probably a lot colder up there. I hate to speculate, but sometimes people don't want to be found? Either way, hoping for good news/cautiously optimistic.

Like someone else commented. Just head downhill in that area and you will eventually here the hwy or walk right into it. I've been sort of lost in that area before hunting for morels and I just head down hill back the way I came.

with his son coming up the next morning, I would approach this like he had gone out to scout for the next day, I doubt he'd be hunting hard away from the truck.  I would maybe look for glassing nobs and other terrain that overlooks meadows, etc. where he might see further.  Especially areas that might have a tricky trail or be along a cliff.  A slip walking back in the dark could have him stove up and maybe his training kicked in and he got himself out of the weather in some sort of improvised shelter and passed out  I'm just guessing here, for some reason this one seems personal yet I've never met the guy and barely hunted that area at all.  Fingers crossed!

Not trying to be negative and I really hope for a good outcome as well, but those shots were heard the night he went missing by a camp near where he was last known to be. I think that it was posted by someone on here a few pages back.

They caught them off White Pass I think but they could have been over off 410 too robbing camps... got caught trying to rob the guy and...

You think they would have found him by now but they didnt find that poor girl up at Hidden lake till this summer.

When there were two threads I think I commented on the same. Those people were apparently westsiders robbing camps around Rimrock I think but it would be a short drive to head down 12 and then back up 410 to look for more camps to rob.

Doesn't have to be lost, fall and break an ankle or leg and it's going to be awful hard to get out.  Hunker down and hope someone finds you.
