turkey dry rub
« on: November 22, 2021, 06:44:47 PM »
Hey it's that time of the year again.  Lost this rub recipe so looked back in the archives to find it.  I used this rub, spatchcocked the bird then smoked it to temp.  Not going to smoke it this year but will be brining the bird then using this rub on the pellet grill.  not my creation.  enjoy

1 cup +4 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup lowreys seasoning salt
1/4 cup garlic salt
1/4 cup + 1 1/2 tsp celery salt
1/4 cup onion salt
1/2 cup paprika
3 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp lemon pepper
2 tsp celery seed
2 tsp dry sage
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp dry thyme
1/2 tsp cayenne

this will do about 2 birds but didn't have the gumption to try and cut it in half for one.  I use the extra rub for chickens.

Happy Thanksgiving
beer---it's whats for dinner
