I’ve had 2 browning A bolt 280. I wish I didn’t sell them…. I was a little short sighted.

I have one as well as three 7MM Mags.
The .280 is one of the most under-rated cartridges ever made.
It's slightly less powerful than the Mag and shoots heavier bullets than the .270.
All this with very mild recoil and a great trajectory.
Try the 16 grains, it's the ticket for both deer and elk.

I've had a Remington 700 BDL 280 since the early 80's then bought a 280 barrel for my Encore and my son has the Rem. 7400 and a 7mm mag barrel for the Encore. The 280 is a good round for deer and elk.  :twocents:

I bought one for my wife probably 15 years ago. She’s taken a lot of big game with it and I have taken some deer with it also, it’s been an excellent caliber for us.

I have an old 700 in .280rem my father inlaw gave it to me its in terrible condition but I want to keep it original so I just stripped it and reblued it. Its a hell of a round but ammo is kinda hard to find even in normal times

+1 for the 280AI. Been my "go to" rifle for a few years. Almost built a 280 Rem last year, but went a different route.
