Son's first turkey
« on: April 04, 2022, 08:51:39 AM »
My second oldest got his first turkey Saturday!

My dad took my three oldest boys out for the youth season. From the stories I heard not much action happened on Friday. However the next morning thing were looking, or sounding better. When they stepped out of the truck they could hear several toms gobbling. They started after the group that was further up the hill. After getting into position and with a little calling from big brother, this tom came in and little brother put him down for a nap! When he shot they saw another tom that had snuck in. My Dad and sons attention was then diverted by the sound of a large branch breaking. That's when they saw a momma bear and three cubs running through the woods! Needless to say the other tom was forgotten as they gathered the downed bird and burned some boot leather getting out of there! That should make for some good memories with Grandpa!
