I know wdfw made some changes to muzzleloader and disabled hunter weapons, but I don't rimember throwing stars on the approved list - but boy would I feel like a bad ass if I took out a big game animal with a throwing star.   :chuckle:

Several years ago, during my IPSC period....yeah.  Closer to 5 thousand per month.  Now, it's trap and sporting clays, so it's still a yes, but more like 500 per month.

I don't get a chance to because in this part of the state you can't hunt with them and most shooting ranges are not set up for long distance shooting, by that I mean over 100 yards.

I head up in the hills for a day of shooting at least a couple times a month, more in the summer months. I usually shoot over 100 rounds of CF between a few rifles every trip.

I still get in an AVERAGE of 100+/month....its varies depending on weather and whether I'm working up a load for something...and whether I'm WORKING OT.  the last has been the killer of late.  Still above 150/month....closer to 250 in each of several rifles.  NOT counting blastin' ammo in the ARs.  tho that is sure fun for working on fast target aquisition.

Its still down from when Kiddo and I were shooting trap 3X week and I was shooting pin matches and rifle matches several times a month.  We burned 5000+ rounds a month then.  AND we loaded ALL of it ourselves.  Took us all of a weekend just to do the 12 ga for the month....work all evening Friday, Saturday and ALL DAY Sunday unless we were shooting on Sunday.  We wore OUT a MEC 650 and a Dillon 650 progressive...  I lost count of the .38 and .45 we loaded...but it was measured in 3# coffee cans and we have dozens of them.  We used UP a batch of 3000 .38 cases, down to about 450 of them left.  Same with 10,000 .45 ACP cases.  Less than 1000 left of that batch.  The brass bucket used to have most of a 5 gallon bucket of .30-06 cases that were cat-E and crimped with linesmans pliers. Heck we wore out garand clips.

Then there was the 30-06 hunting loads, finally ran out of the last of the 3000 165 grain Nosler Solid Bases that I purchased in 1988, been using those in hunting loads since....now working up new loads.... Barnes TSX are winning so far, Sierra and Nosler tied for 2nd and Remington Core-Lokts are running third.  All the brass is sized, trimmed and prinmed waiting for the loading to commence. Then I have 1700 Hornady 180 grain SSTs for the 300WM....and the list goes on.  Its loading time again!
A Smith & Wesson Beats Four Aces.

Whatta ya mean I can't have one of each?

What we have here is...Washington Department of NO Fish and WATCHABLE Wildlife.

WDFW is going farther and farther backwards....we need FISH AND GAME back!

May through Septembet I shoot more than 100 a month. When you have a AR, a 9mm & a 45 acp its hard not to shoot that much in a sitting. As far hunting rifles I don't shoot them as much as I should.

You said centerfire, but didn't specify rifle or pistol.  As a competitive pistol shooter I practice once a week or so, 50-100rnds per session once the weather and daylight hours and work schedule allow me to. I don't shoot near that much CF rifle at all.

If I averaged out all my centerfire rifle over a year it would be close, and if I added in all my pistol easily, then shotgun, well heck yes.  Now add in 22LR and I'm good to go.

I was shooting every day while laid off but now that I am working it just would feel right. Away from the family so evenings are spent with them. I guess I'd rather have it this way. Before hunting season comes I'll be out shooting every day to make sure my shot counts.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

I trap shoot twice a week.  Usually shoot about 100 rounds a week of 12 gauge.  Also shoot pistol twice a month.  Usually 100 rounds or so.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
