Took my son out all over for past week on Friday he sealed the deal after many hard lessons and many attempts he never gave up

Congratulations to your son, irrigated crop meat is gonna taste dandy.👍

Very true and was real challenge for him as some will think it wasn’t I’m sure it took a lot of patients and time he put in all summer watching and learning

Oh yeah, well my son killed his first buck this weekend too.  Glad to know that he doesn't have to see Millerwheeler's kid's buck - I"m not going to show him that pic. (gorgeous buck)

110 yds, perfect shot, smallest anters I"ve ever seen on a 1.5 year old buck. I think he'd have a green score of 3 +/- (A good cull if you ask me.)  He tagged the buck around the ankle since there was nothing else to hang it on.    He passed on this guy a week ago, but yesterday he was locked in from the moment he saw it.  I just watched as he waited for the perfect shot and then smoked him like he'd been doing it for years.

A little Idaho buck that I shot because my 3 yr old told me I should. I’m thinking after the success I’ve had this year with my kids in tow my 8 yr old is going to come along on my November cow elk hunt. I have another deer tag and I’ve taken the last 5 days of season to hopefully fill it with a better one

I waited out the first half of general season due to the heat and had low expectations this weekend with the eastside still so darn dry. Picked a spot about 2000' higher into the mountains than where our camp has typically hunted for the last decade, and spiked out Friday night. After a 6 am creek crossing and nearly 2 miles of hiking and glassing up a promising ridgeline, I picked out this buck following does through burnt timber across the head of a big basin, and watched as he bedded and disappeared in deadfall. Was grateful to find him in the same spot over an hour later after a long stalk around the backside of the ridge.

I'm grateful for a game plan that paid off, my brother who helped pack him out through tough sidehilling and bushwhacking, and the stories and sustenance he'll provide over the year ahead. And especially the rugged corner of Washington where we crossed paths.

He's my 5th Washington deer over the past six seasons. And especially the rugged corner of Washington where we crossed paths.

Beautiful write up and beautiful deer!

My son’s second big game season. Opening morning before 8:00 am.
Great spot and stalk with my youngest. Ended up with double eye guards on both sides.
