Howdy folks! 29y/o hunter looking for someone with more experience hunting the jungles of the north west side. I had my first kid this summer and the long trip out to the east side with family isn't in the cards this year. I'm sure other dads can relate.
I'm looking for spots to go that may be successful with a shorter hunt but it's hard to place a bet on anything when I know I'll be doing it alone and effectively blind in new terrain. Would be great to find someone with more experience that would be willing to hand down some of their knowledge for some help with the work of it all. I've read lots and spent endless hours on emaps etc. Would just like a guide/buddy that's got some ideas and would appreciate a partner. I don't have a lot of options for hunting partners so a new hunting friend would be a great blessing. Be it Blacktail, elk, Ducks, I'm game to come along, learn from others and enjoy the wild spaces. I shoot a .270 Remington 700 and a Beretta A300 12g. I roll in a 4x4 Tundra and enjoy cold beers and Bob Marly.
I'd also be willing to entertain the possibility of trading labor for land access. I'm a capable carpenter and handyman. Not a clue how to go about approaching folks for that though. Seem pretty awkward/potentially sketchy.
